About UsWhimsy and Fluff began in 2012 when its founder, Marissa, discovered the wonderful world of tutu-making. It wasn’t long, however, before she wanted to broaden her horizons. As the daughter of an antiques dealer/enthusiast, she’s long held an appreciation for vintage and antique textiles, so naturally she wanted to find whimsical ways to put her finds to use! Her solution was transforming these found fabrics into bloomers and, eventually, skirts. As the tutu craze died down, Marissa turned her entire focus towards upcycling vintage textiles, creating bloomers and skirts of varying sizes and styles, each one becoming a one-of-a-kind creation.
The Whimsy and Fluff family expanded in 2017, when Marissa’s sister, Betsy, brought her embroidery into the mix! Since day one, Marissa had been looking for ways to put her inevitable scraps to use. Eventually, her leftover fabrics made their way to Betsy who, in turn, looked on the cast-offs as perfect canvases for sassy and quirky wall hangings. In addition to their individual creations, the W.a.F. sisters also love to collaborate on pieces, and it’s not uncommon for Betsy to embroider a little extra flair onto a pair of Marissa’s rad bloomers!
